Rev. Roscoe J. Sloyer The Rev. Roscoe J. Sloyer, 75 of New Oxford, Pa., died Sunday, January 15, 2006 in New Oxford. He was the husband of Grace S. (Tubbs) Sloyer for 51 years. A graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem, he attended Eastern Bible Institute, Green Lane, Pa. Rev. Sloyer served as a pastor in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. He attended Bethel Assembly of God Church, Littlestown, Pa., was an avid reader and student of the bible and considered his grandchildren the joy of his life. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Roscoe J. and Alma D. (Brunner) Sloyer. Survivors: In addition to his wife is a son, John R. and his wife, Michele, of Lewisburg; daughter, Diane, wife of Warren Lamborn, of Wyoming, Del.; brother, Dr. William O. of Bethlehem; sisters, Esther Zettlemoyer of Bethlehem and Ruth Leamy of Phoenixville; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel, and granddaughter, Amber. Services: will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem. Call noon until time of services. She was a cook at the Williams Township Elementary School for more than 15 years before retiring in 1975.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Endress) Taylor.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township.
Surviving are a son, Barry J., with whom she resided; a daughter, Judy Taylor of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Lois Helm of Williams Township; two brothers, Frederick of Phillipsburg and Richard of Nazareth; three grandchildren, including Mark DiGiacomo of Pasadena, whom she helped raise. A son, Dale Richard, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the church. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Berwick and Reynolds streets, Easton.

Carl A. Nicholas Sr., 79, of Williams Township, died Jan. 17 in Easton Hospital. He was married to Marjorie R. (Danner) Nicholas for 58 years last April.
A member of International Papermakers Union Local 720, he was a machine operator in the coating department of Riegel Paper Corp., Milford, N.J., for 30 years before retiring in 1986 and a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Born in Durham, he was a son of the late S. Lynford and Florence (Steeley) Nicholas.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riegelsville, and the Durham Cemetery board.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a life member of Raubsville Sportsman's Association and a member of Williams Township Fire Company.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Carl II and Kevin J., both of Williams Township; brothers, Merle D. of Williams Township, Lee E. of Forks Township; four grandsons, a great-grandson.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
