Deborah L. Bernhard, 50, of South Whitehall Township died Thursday, Jan. 27, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Larry B. Bernhard. They were married for 30 years last June.
A licensed insurance agent and certified insurance service representative, she worked with her husband at his business, Robertson/Welch Insurance Services, Macungie, since 1983. Previously, she was a legal clerk at Air Products Inc., Trexlertown.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Rita Y. (Ziegenfuss) Dankel of Allentown and the late Jack M. Dankel.
Survivors: Husband and mother; sons, William H. of Salisbury Township and Benjamin L., and daughter, Katie L., all at home; brother Jack W., and sister, Terrill L. Weindel, both of Allentown, two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. Call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late John and Shirley E. (Ziegenfuss) Birkel. She was a 1977 graduate of Liberty High School. Cheryl worked in the dietary department at Moravian College for several years. She was a member of Westside Moravian Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: Daughter, Mary Rich; son, Joseph Rich in the Army, stationed in Germany; sister, Nancy A. Reed of Bethlehem; grandchildren, James, Shay and Mickayla; aunts, Mrs. Betty J. Smith of Bethlehem and Mrs. Rita Dankel of Allentown; niece, Bronwynn; a great-niece, Sage;four cousins.
