Carolyn McElwain

MASSENA--Funeral services for Carolyn A. McElwain, 55, of 25 Grinnell Ave. in Massena, will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Norwood, with the Rev. Robert Graham officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Norwood.

Calling hours are scheduled for today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena.

Mrs. McElwain died unexpectedly Friday evening (Jan. 23, 1998) in the emergency room of the Massena Memorial Hospital.

Surviving Mrs. McElwain are her husband, Jerry; one daughter, Mrs. Chris Burrer of Baldwinsville; two sons: Brian and John of Massena; two grandchildren: Derek McElwain and Alexander Burrer; her parents, Howard and Mabel Wilber of Norwood; two sisters: Mrs. Linda Regan of Bernardston, Mass. and Mrs. Marsha Jarrell of Westfield, Mass.; one brother, Tom Wilber of Norwood: one aunt; one uncle, and several nieces and nephews.

Born on July 15, 1942 in Potsdam, Mrs. McElwain was the daughter of Howard and Mable (Wolstenholme) Wilber. She graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. She married Gerald K. McElwain on Feb. 6, 1960 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam.

Mrs. McElwain was a homemaker and an avid antique collector and garage saler. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
