NORWOOD--Dorothy Mae Stowell, 92, Newark, Del., formerly of Norwood, died Saturday at Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Stowell was a homemaker.
She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of St. Phillip's Church, where she was active in the altar guild.
Born March 31, 1907, in Norwood, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Emma Hyter Richards.
She married Edwin D. Stowell on June 30, 1923, in Norwood. The couple lived in Utica and Hudson Falls and in 1944 moved to Norwood. Mr. Stowell operated Stowell Travel Bureau Inc., Potsdam, retiring in 1968. They moved to Mayfield Apartments, Potsdam, in 1974. He died Feb. 12, 1982.
Surviving are a son, Edwin D. Jr., Newark, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Richard, died in 1934. Two brothers died before her, Harold Richards in 1971 and Earl in 1991.
The funeral will be at noon Thursday at Gee Funeral Home, Elkton, Md., with the Rev. Elizabeth Dick officiating. Burial will be in Bixby Cemetery.
A calling hour will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
