Telephone Lineman

NORWOOD--Leslie L. Desnoyers, 82, formerly of 24 Baldwin Ave., died Wednesday at Masonic Home, Utica.

Mr. Desnoyers served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a lineman with New York Telephone Co. until his retirement in 1984, after 30 years.

Born April 18, 1919, in Malone, son of Leo and Lillian LaRocque Desnoyers, he married Kathryn G. Hartigan on Oct. 25, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Church, Malone, with the Rev. Russell O’Neill officiating. Mrs. Desnoyers died June 27, 2000.

He was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2309.

Surviving are a son, Michael, Bethlehem, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Valenta, Frankfort, a sister, Mrs. Maynard (Jean) Williams, Malone, and five grandchildren.

A sister, Margaret M. Desnoyers, died March 24.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home.
