She was married to George Wert.

bullet Johannes Schleicher was born between 1755 and 1774.(95) (96) He immigrated on 23 Sep 1792 to Philadelphia, PA.(97) John, his wife (unnamed), Valentine and Catharine all appear as passengers on the ship "Fame", from Rotterdam, Capt. Alexdr. Fraser . Also, Andrew "Schussler", Eliza and two children and Nicholas "Scheyger", are on the same list, as well as a Jacob Schlaygar and a John Schanebergen! This provides further evidence that John, Nicholas and Andrew Schissler's wife Elizabeth are in some way related. He appeared on a tax list in 1798 in Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA. (98) He appeared on the census in 1800 in Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA.(8) He appeared on a tax list in 1812 in Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA. The source for this information is "Emigrants to PA 1641-1819", by Michael Tepper, 1975, Genealogical Publishing Co. :

Andrew Schusler
Eliza Schusler and two children
Nicholas Schleyger
Ann Margaret Schusler
Margaret Schusler

Valentine Schusler

Jacob Slayger

John Sleygar and wife
Catharin Sleygar
Valentin Sleygar

It is believed that Eliza Schusler is Elizabeth nee Schleicher, wife of Andrew and that Catharin and Valentin Sleygar are the children of John Sleygar. This information helps to confirm the possibility that Nicholas, John and Elizabeth (Schissler, nee Schleicher) are all related, possibly siblings. This is the first time that I've seen a Jacob that might also be connected to the Schleicher family.

John Schleicher first shows up in Heidelberg Twp, Northampton (now Lehigh), PA in a tax list in 1798 and in 1800 he is listed in the census as having in the household:
10 yrs <= 1 male <= 16 yrs
26 yrs <= 1 male <= 45 yrs
1 female <= 10 yrs
10 yrs <= 1 female <= 16 yrs
26 yrs <= 1 female <= 45 yrs

In 1801, his daughter, Susan, is baptized in nearby Neff's Union Evangelical Church.

In 1803, he and his wife are the baptism wittness for Johannes, son of Jacob and Elizabeth Bossert in the Heidelberg Church.

In 1812, he's in the tax list for Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA.

In 1820 he's again in the census records of Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh County, PA:

1 male > 45 yrs
1 female > 45 yrs

In 1828 in the Orphan's Court records in Lehigh County, PA, there is a petition from Valentine Schleicher that states:

********************

To the Honorable the Judges of the Ofphans Court in this the County of Lehigh.

Valentin Schleicher (a very German signature)

Another document provides the findings of the court and states that Valentine Schleicher is of Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh Co., PA. This document is dates 9 May 1828.

Valentine Schleicher is in the census for Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA in 1820, and 1830. His wife is in the 1850 and 1860 census. Neither John nor Valentine have been found in the 1810 census, and Valentine nor his wife have been found in the 1840 census.

Note that all of John's children are named in the document above and that the wife's name is probably a nickname.

Also, the wittnesses of the baptism of John's daughter, Susan, are Andreas Schussler and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is likely the mother, Elizabeth born Schleicher, whom appears on Andrew Schisler's death certificate of 1854. Andrew Schisler was born in 1785 in Saulzburg, Germany and died in Washington Twp, Lehigh Co., PA. Also, the land John owned in Heidelberg is next to that of Andrew Schissler in Heidelberg Twp [Heidelberg Twp was split into two townships, Heidelberg and Washington, circa 1845].

It is also likely that Nicholas Schleicher, also of Heidelberg Twp in the 1800 census and John are related in some manner, and possibly brothers, as they appear in the township around the same timeframe and are apparently of similar age.
Parents: Schleicher.

He was married to Dorothea ? before 1792 in Germany. Children were: Valentin Schleicher, Catherine Schleicher, Elizabeth Schleicher, Magdelena Schleicher, Susanna Schleicher, Margaret Schleicher.

I have yet to find evidence that Christoph Schlicher had any children. Christoph is apparently the son of Johannes Otto Schleicher. It may be that John was the son of Henry who is the son of Jost Schlicher (Jost is a brother of Christoph). Parents: Schleicher.

He was married to Anna Maria Gehry. Children were: George Schleicher, John Schleicher, Daniel Schleicher, Willoughby Schleicher, Nathan Schleicher, Jonas Schleicher, Charles Schleicher, Susanna Schleicher.

bullet Levi ? Schleicher was born about 1830.(5) Levi is living with Elizabeth, and her son Joshua in 1860. He is of the correct age to be a son of Elizabeth and from the 1830 census, I am missing one son, born between 1820 and 1830. Also, he is the administrator of Lydia's husband's estate in 1856. There is no further proof that this Levi is this missing son.

There is a Levi Schleicher who died abt 30 Jul 1862, at 30 yrs old in Heidelberg Twp. He was a Day Laborer in 1860.(5) Parents: Valentin Schleicher and Elisabeth Rex.

(62) She was baptized on 21 Jan 1821 in Heidelberg Church, Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh, PA.(62) The marriage info and children of Margareth are not at all proven, but provided here as a possibility only!!! This information comes from four sources and there are many age discrepancies between them: 1) the record of a Margaret Schleicher who married a Lewis Roth on the date/place given, 2) 1850 federal census record of Lower Towamensing Twp, and 1870 federal census record of Allentown, 5th ward, 3) birth of Margareth to Valentin on date given, 4) birth of son Max Joseph in Ben Salem church records in East Penn Twp on date given. The ages for Margaret(h) of the census records (age 37 and 58 respectively) does not match her birth/baptism record. However, this Roth family is listed on the same page as Levi Schleicher in the 1850 census. Parents: Valentin Schleicher and Elisabeth Rex.

She was married to Lewis Roth on 12 May 1839 in prob. Heidelberg, Lehigh, PA.(61) A marriage of a Margareth Schleicher and Lewis Roth, both of Heidelberg took place on this date. Since Valentine's daughter, Margareth, is the only known Margareth Schleicher of a marrying age known to be in the town of Heidelberg, it is assumed that she is the one who married Lewis. However, there is no further corroborating evidence as yet that it was she. Children were: Lydia Roth, Sabina Roth, Maximillon Joseph Roth, Eliza Roth, Henry Roth, Amanda Roth, Alfred Roth.
