General Jeremiah Slade was born in 1775 in Martin County, North Carolina.1 He was the son of William Slade and Nancy Gainer. Jeremish Slade served in the North Carolina House of Commons from 1797 until 1800 and as a State Senator from 1809 until 1815.
Jeremiah married Janet Bog, daughter of Thomas Bog and Hannah Blount, on June 10, 1798.
He served as a Brigader General during the War of 1812, commanding the Fifth Brigade of the Seventh North Carolina Division of Militia, comprising forces of Martin, Edgecombe, Halifax and Northampton counties. General Jeremiah Slade died in 1824 in North Carolina.
