Stephen Skvarenina, World War II

Steve joined the Army Air Force in early 1943 and went through basic officer training, basic navigation, and advanced navigation before being deployed to England in 1944.  The following is a log he kept of his movements.  He was shot down on his first mission and he navigated his pilot to Switzerland, where they were interred.

Of course they had to do something with their time.  This is a picture of his ski-school card.  Actually, they did try to ski their way out of Switzerland but they were caught resulting in the jail entrees in the list above.
