Me | The Descendancy of Thomas Skillman of 1664Virtually all the non-African-American Skillmans in America are descendants of Thomas Skillman who came to America in 1664 in the Nicholls expedition to wrest New Amsterdam (now New York) from the Dutch in a bloodless confrontation. He
decided to stay in America, was given land on Long Island, married and raised a family that included one son, Thomas II. This Thomas had 5 sons, over 9,000 of their descendants, which include 4734 Skillmans, are listed here.
To honor the Privacy of living persons, only their names are shown on this
site.| Table of Contents | |
Notes: Skillman genealogy data is presented as a series of Family Group
Sheets starting with that of Thomas Skillman, our immigrant ancestor. The
name of the head of each family is a clickable link to his/her parents. The
name of each child with a family is also a link to that family. The number
following a person's name is the "Record Number" in my genealogy file.
Please use this number in any correspondence to me for easy identification
of the person(s) you are inquiring about.
