This family was from Tooreen in Caheragh parish, near Drimoleague, Co Cork, IRELAND.

  1. Laurence Hourihane, b.c. early 1800's Caheragh?, m. Catherine Collins 1843 in Skibbereen R.C. Parish. They were the parents of Patrick (1844), Tom (1846), and Laurence (1849), all baptized in Caheragh R.C. Parish.
  2. Patrick Hourihane, bap. 1844 Caheragh, Cork, IRE m. Hanora Donovan of Kilscohanaght in 1865 at the Drimoleague R.C. Chapel. They were the parents of Kate (1866), Thomas (1867), Laurence (1869), Helen (1871), Daniel (1873), Hanora (1874), and Patrick (1877), and Michael P (1881).
  3. Michael P. Hourihane, b.c. 1881 m. Kate Donovan 1917 were the parents of Michael b. 1922 of Tooreen, direct paternal ancestor of #321445.

Daniel Donovan and Ellen McCarthy may have been third cousins. Their appears to be the following annotation within their marriage record:

in 4 10 et 4 10 con grd dispensed by the Bishop

i.e., maybe something like:

in 4 [quartio] et 4 [quartio] consanguinitatis gradu

Helena Hourihane (b. 1871) went by Helen Frances, and married a man named Thomas Donovan, who may have had Drominidy ancestry. They lived in Solvang, California.

The family tree shows the tester's father's lineage. We have no information on the mother.
