Jackson/Poe, Where I came from and how I got here.

Hello, my name is Steve Jackson and this is where I came from and how I got here.

I've tried to collect the genealogical research that my mother and her sisters have compiled and place it into a computerized database for others to see. When I began this project I thought it would be a simple task. After all how long would it take to transfer what was already written, into a computer database? To my surprise that was over 16 years ago and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel from where I'm standing. In this web site you will find a listing of names and family group sheets. I would like to add more variety to include all of the notes I have on so many of the people you will find here but my knowledge of HTML language is limited. A few years ago my mother gave me permission to copy a book she had published called "KEEPING UP WITH THE JONSES, An Account of Moses Jones and his Descendants" which is now available on CD.

If there is nothing else I've learned over this time, I've found that if someone places information on the Internet someone else will take it as gospel and before long it has spread throughout the Internet whether correct or not. Now you may find issues with what I have here and if you do please feel free to contact me and we will discuss them. My hope is not to step on any toes in the process of establishing this web site. In doing so I have attempted to remove all sensitive information about living persons you may find here.

I also hope this web site sparks the same enthusiasm it did in me so many years ago. This is a continually changing web site so if you are a relative and you don't find your name here, don't despair, you will make it here sooner or later.
