Editor's Comments About Entry: This is the marriage record of SMITH, Thomas to Isabella Brown. This family appears on the 1861 census of Polmont, Sterlingshire. At that time John Brown, Isabella's Father, was living with them. Note that the registrar made an error in the second part of the marriage record when he switched from Thomas Smith to James Smith. I am assuming that this was just an oversight, and this is still actually Thomas and Isabella. I suppose he could have gone by James but that is not likely since he is never referred to as James in any other records.
