The grim reaper chalked up another two points on Utah's highway roster of death today, swelling the years total to 98. The victims were: Frank Bader, 47, of 1309 West Seventh South Street, who died this morning of injuries he suffered early yesterday when struck by two automobiles. Mrs. Sarah Ann Markham Larsen, 59, of 520 South Ninth West Street, who died yesterday at Duchesne of injuries received when a car overturned near Currant Creek. [Description of Mr. Bader's accident.] Mrs. Larsen, mother of nine sons and daughters, who died yesterday noon at a Red Cross first aid station in Duchesne, was en route to a funeral when the fatal accident occured. Sheriff Dewey Meriwether, of Duchesne County, said the car hit a depression in the gravelled portion of U.S. Highway 40 and was thrown out of control. The victim's husband, John L. Larsen, also a passenger in the car is in the LDS hospital receiving treatment for possible internal injuries, fractured ribs, cuts, bruises, and shock. His condition is reported as "fair." The driver, Mrs. Gertrude Larsen, the couple's daughter, and Mrs. Leland T. Ford, the other passenger, suffered only scratches and bruises. At the time of the accident they were en route to Vernal to attend funeral services for Earnest Eaten, a relative of Mr. Larsen. Mrs. Larsen was born in Spanish Fork on May 1, 1880 to William Don Carlos Markham and Sarah Ann Warner Markham, but she had resided in Salt Lake City for 40 years. She was active in the Twenty-Fifth ward, and a year ago served an assignment in the California Mission. Surviving, besides her husband are nine sons and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Smith, Mrs. Harold G. Hulse, Gertrude Larsen, Mrs. Ford, Glen Larsen, Lucille Larsen and Harold Larsen all of Salt Lake; Mrs. Armet Miller and John C. Larsen, San Francisco, and 6 brothers and sisters. Miss Effie Markham of Los Angeles, Joseph and Stephen Markham, and Mrs. Frances Beck of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Thomas Patterson of Carey, Idaho, and Mrs. Lorin Chadwick of Ontario, Oregon. Funeral services will be held in Salt Lake.
