Golden Hawk had 52 childrenAncestor of Hayses in Knott Co., the Arnetts in Magoffin Co., and the Wiremans in Wolfe Co.
George was a quarter blood Cherokee, he came from the Cherokee Reservation in Eastern Tennessee and spent his last years in Magoffin County.
George 'Goldenhawk' Sizemore belonged to the Whitetop Laurel Band and was Chief of the Tribe in Prestonsburg, Floyd Co., KY George offten called 'Gulden'. bragged of having fathered 55 children.

In 1999 a statue was erected by his descendents in Magoffin Co.

Note: George's middle name was Guldon. His birthplace is noted in the 1880 U.S. Census reported by his daughter Susanna.

George Golden Hawk Sizemore:
Settled in Magoffin Co. KY. Had severl wives. Ancestors and data from
historical articals say he fathered 52 children. He was prize fighter,
killed a man in the wring.
In 1999 a statue was erected by his descendents in Magoffin Co.

According to a letter from Cornelius Carrol (16 Dec 1995) "Golden Hawk had children by a number of women. According to tradition, he had over 40 children and was brought before the Circuit Court for having too many wives, where he told the judge "If I was as pretty a man as you I'd of had more;" He was a real character. In 1860, he was in Magoffin Co. and instructed the census enumerator to write in the occupation column "Nothing in the World". ¹ ⁶ ³⁹ ⁴⁰ ⁴¹ ⁴² ⁴³ ⁴⁴

George married Sarah "Sally" Anderson, daughter of Unknown and Unknown, in 1812 in Hawkins Co., TN.¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ (Sarah "Sally" Anderson was born about 1790 in Hawkins Co., TN,⁶ ⁴⁶ ⁴⁷ ⁴⁸ ⁴⁹ ⁵⁰ ⁵¹ died about 1842 in KY ¹ ⁵² ⁵³ and was buried in Royalton, Magoffin Co., KY.)

George next married Mary Ann Womack in 1826 in Perry Co., KY.⁶

George next married Alethia Richardson in 1820.⁷ (Alethia Richardson was born about 1801 ²⁸ ⁵⁴ ⁵⁵ and died in 1870 in KY ⁵⁶ ⁵⁷.)
