"Hazel Duty, 75, Gate City Return To Top GATE CITY, Va. - Hazel Duty, 75, formerly of Dungannon, Va., entered into rest Monday (June 4, 2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1925 in Scott County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Nathan and Cassie Osborne Corder. She was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, J.W. Honeycutt; and former husband, Willie Duty in 1983; one daughter, Donna Gail Monroe in 1994; two sisters, Lillian Sluss and Audrey Strong; five brothers, Howard, Warren, Nathan, Lloyd and Walker Corder. Surviving are two sisters and brother-in-law, Lottie Darnell, Gate City, Va., and Frieda and Ronnie Warren, Wabash, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jessie Monroe and Audrey Lynn; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. L.W. Salling and the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Music will be provided by the Antioch Church Choir. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ioof Cemetery, Roann, Ind. with Bob McCarty officiating.".
