Descendants of John HORSNALL
John Horsnall was a miller and his son John Valentine Horsnall went to Shardlow and had descendants who spread out from
there. Apart from the job as a miller, significant reasons for the movements are that several were policemen (so
6 feet tall and posted around their county), coal and the canals (boats went
regularly from Shardlow throughout the country to canals such as the Leeds &
Liverpool). Some could have been policemen for the canals in some way. Otherwise the name is fairly rare and mostly from Essex etc.
