• Advertised in the Hampshire Herald (Springfield MA), 8 Feb 1785-22 Feb 1785, that he carried on ". . . the gold- and silversmith business in all its branches as usual from the shop formerly operated by Thomas Hunt, a few rods North of the court house." ³

• Advertised in the Berkshire Gazette (Pittsfield MA), 18 Jan 1798, announcing himself as a general merchant and shopkeeper dealing in ". . . marble, monuments, stoves, and fancy goods, having begun that business two years past." ³
