General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Advertised in the Newport Mercury (Newport RI), 21 Mar 1812, offering, from "BENJAMIN H. TISDALE & Co, Watchmakers at 96 Thames Street, silver tea, table, marrow, salt, and mustard spoons and sugar tongs. . . jewelry and silverware of all kinds. . . cash paid for old gold and silver." 3 • He worked from 1810 to 1824 as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker in Newport RI 4 • He worked in 1824 as a silversmith and watchmaker in Providence RI with shop at 148 North Main Street. 4 • He worked from 1840 to 1850 as a jeweler and watchmaker in Newport RI listed in the New England Mercantile Union Business Directory in 1843, 1845, and 1849. 4 |
