• He was a partner from 1857 to 1873 with William P. Jones in Newburyport MA as TOWLE & JONES, having purchased the business of their master. In 1870 the name was changed to TOWLE, JONES & Co, with the admittance of Edward Towle. ¹⁰

• Alternate Mark for TOWLE & JONES.

• Master to Edward Bass Towle abt 1857 in Newburyport MA. ¹⁰

• He was a partner from 1873 to 1882 with Edward Bass Towle in Newburyport MA as A. F. TOWLE & SON. This became the core of TOWLE SILVERSMITHS c 1882.
