General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Apprenticed about 1815 to Josiah Towne in Montpelier VT 1 • Advertised on 11 Sep 1829 (Montpelier VT), that he was located opposite bank in Montpelier; carried jewelry and worked as clock- and watchmaker. 3 • Advertised in the Vermont Watchman & State Gazette (Montpelier VT), 5 Jan 1830, "His stock consists chiefly in silver table and tea spoons, salt and mustard spoons, cream ladles and silverplate of the first quality." 3 • He was a partner from 1831 to 1832 with Ira Strong Towne in Montpelier VT as I. S. & J. TOWN. Advertised ". . . silver work oof every description manufactured to oder on short notice." 3 |
