General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Advertised in the Connecticut Journal, 7 Dec 1819, ". . . Having taken the stand lately occupied by William C. Leffingwell, offers for sale a very extensive assortment of crockery and glass ware. . ." Similar ads appeared in April 1820 and in April and May 1821. 3 • Appointed Officer in Custom House in New Haven CT.
• He was a partner from 1826 to 1840 with Zebul Bradley in New Haven CT as BRADLEY & MERRIMAN 4

(Mary Hotchkiss was born on 18 Mar 1793 in Middlesex CT and died on 29 Mar 1855.) Marcus next married Nancy Hood, daughter of Elizabeth Bonticou, on 18 Dec 1855 in New Haven CT. (Nancy Hood was born about 1796 and died on 17 Apr 1884 in New Haven CT.) |
