General notes: Silversmith and jeweler Events in his life were: • Apprenticed about 1786 to Joseph Carpenter in Norwich CT 1 • He worked from 1798 to 1800 as a goldsmith in Boston MA listed in 1800 city directory with a shop at no. 14 Ann Street and house on Prince Street. 4 • He was a partner from 1800 to 1806 with Rufus Farnum in Boston MA 4

• Beaker, 1805-1810 • Norwich CT, Sep 1807: from Joseph Carpenter's son, Charles, he and Rufus Farnum bought his one-sixth part of the late silversmith's house, shop, store, and land, near the courthouse in Norwich. 3 • Advertised in the Boston Patriot (Boston MA), 5 Dec 1810, "Henry Farnam, 15 Cornhill, . . . silver plate of every description, manufactured as usual." 3 • Advertised in the Boston Patriot (Boston MA), 27 Apr 1811-15 May 1811, "Henry Farnam, 15 Cornhill, . . . silver plate of every description, manufactured as usual." 3 • He was a partner c 1815 with Richard Ward in Boston MA as FARNHAM & WARD, listed in the city directory at 15 Cornhill Street. |
