General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were:
• He was a partner from 1832 to 1848 with Andrew B. Kitchen in Philadelphia PA as BAILEY & KITCHEN with a shop at 136 Chestnut Street. Kitchen died in 1840, but the company name was retained until 1848. 4
• Alternate Mark for BAILEY& KITCHEN • He was a partner from 1848 to 1854 with Eli Westcott Bailey, Jeremiah Robbins, and James Gallagher in Philadelphia PA as BAILEY & Co, the business continuing after his death at 136 Chestnut until 1859, when a new shop was opened at 819 Chestnut. 4 Joseph married Mary Potter on 21 Jun 1834 in Philadelphia PA. (Mary Potter died on 8 Mar 1841 in Philadelphia PA.) |
