• Alternate Mark • Apprenticed in 1801 to Ezekiel Burr in Providence RI 1 • He was a partner from 1813 to 1818 with Jabez Gorham, William Hadwen, George Clark, and Henry Mumford in Providence RI 3 • He worked after 1818 as a silversmith and jeweler in Providence RI • Advertised in the Providence Annual Advertiser (Providence RI), 21 Jan 1824, that he "attends personally to the manufacture or repairing of most articles in the Gold and Silversmith line and executes Engravings, Gold Cyphers and Hair work in a superior manner." 3 • He appeared on the 1880 census taken at Providence RI, listed as a retired jeweler. Christopher married Hertilla Taylor, daughter of William Taylor and Elizabeth Andrews, on 21 Mar 1815 in Providence RI. (Hertilla Taylor was born on 25 Aug 1793 in Providence RI and died on 9 Jul 1879 in Providence RI.) |
