• Tea set, 1765-1774 • He was a partner from 1774 to 1775 with Henry Van Vechten in Albany NY as LANSING & VAN VECHTEN. 15 • He worked from 1775 to 1800 as a silversmith in Albany NY paid £11/0/16 by Albany City Council in 1782 for making a gold box given to George Washington. Spoons ordered in 1783 by Leonard Gansevoort. Also made sauceboat in 1798 inscribed C L, A. A. L, for daughter Catherine Lansing and grandson Abraham Lansing. 4 Jacob married Femmetje Lansing, daughter of Jacob Lansing and Marytje Egberts, on 28 Aug 1774 in Albany NY. (Femmetje Lansing was born in 1751 in Albany NY, christened on 7 Jul 1751 in Albany NY and died on 27 Mar 1807.) Jacob next married Neeltje Roseboom, daughter of Hendrick Myndertse Roseboom and Maria Ten Eyck, in 1767 in Albany NY. (Neeltje Roseboom was born in Albany NY and died before 1774.) |
