General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Cited by George M. Curtis in Early Silver as Connecticut's only woman silversmith, presumably because the name "Minerva" is usually bestowed on females. According to recent research in Gurley's Gurley Genealogy and Coventry Vital Records, Minerva was a male. 3 • Advertised in the Connecticut Courant (Hartford CT), 16 Sep 1807, as gold- and silversmith 3 • Advertised in the Connecticut Courant (Hartford CT), 28 Mar 1810, for an apprentice to the silversmith's business. 3 |
