  General notes:

Silversmith

  Events in his life were:

  • On September 27, 1815, Martin Palmer deeded to his nephew [grandson?], Martin Huntington, 36 acres of land. William Huntington witnessed the deed. In 1819 Martin Huntington was a member of the firm of M. P. HUNTINGTON & CO., Milton, North Carolina. On March 24, 1832, Martin P. Huntington deeded land in Hillsborough to William Huntington. The Hillsborough Recorder of February 12, 1851, quoted a lengthy obituary from the Milton Chronicle that was signed "D. N. S." According to this obituary, Huntington had lived an exemplary Christian life and had never removed from Milton after his initial move there from Orange County. His death, as noted in this account, occurred on February 1, 1851, at the age of fifty-four. Martin Palmer Huntington had married Susan Holden in 1822; his second wife was Mary A. Donoho, whom he married September 29, 1834. Both marriages are recorded in the Caswell County Marriage Book. 3
