General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Apprenticed about 1798 to Daniel Burnap in Bolton CT 1 • He worked from 1808 to 1826 as a silversmith in Farmington CT 3 • He worked after 1826 as a silversmith in New Haven CT were he moved to be near brother Dennison, a Yale professor. Shop located on Chapel Street, "four doors east of the bank." 3 • Master to George Olmstead abt 1830 in New Haven CT. 1
• He was a partner after 1830 with George Olmstead in New Haven CT as N. OLMSTED & SON, Listed in city directories at 128 Chapel Street (1841) and 37 Olive Street (1847) as jewelers and silversmiths. 3
• Alternate Mark Nathaniel married Phidelia Burnap, daughter of Abner Burnap and Sarah Bingham, on 18 Jun 1810 in Farmington CT. (Phidelia Burnap was born on 3 Mar 1787 in Coventry CT and died on 13 Feb 1870 in New Haven CT.) |
