  Events in his life were:

• Apprenticed about 1786 to Jacob Sargeant in Mansfield CT

• He worked from 1795 to 1821 as a silversmith in Springfield MA according to Hampshire and Berkshire Chronicle and Hampden Federalist. He commenced business on Main Street, taking over the business of brother, Jacob Sargeant, who had moved to Hartford in 1795. ³

• Appointed Selectman in Springfield MA. ³

Thomas married Lydia Adams on 3 Oct 1795 in Lisbon CT. (Lydia Adams was born on 4 May 1774 in Norwich CT and died on 5 May 1855.)
