General notes: Silversmith and watchmaker Events in his life were: • He worked from circa 1787 to 1789 as a silversmith and watchmaker in Boston MA • Advertised in the Cumberland Gazette, 23 Nov 1789, announcing that he, a clock- and watchmaker from Boston, intended to carry on the clock- and watchmaking business next door to the printing office in Portland at No. 4 Exchange Street. 3 • He was a partner from 1823 to 1824 with Henry Quincy in Portland ME as WILLIAM S. QUINCY & SON. 3 William married Sally Holland on 6 Jan 1799 in Portland ME. (Sally Holland was born about 1775 in Boston MA.) |
