  • He worked from 1816 to 1843 as a silversmith and engraver in Boston MA
    Listed in the 1816 city directory at 31 Summer Street. 3
  • Advertised in the New-England Palladium (Boston MA), 20 Jul 1824, as "engraver" he announced removal from 6 Congress Street to Congress Square. 3
  • Engraved a map of Boston in 1826. One of the founders of New England Bank Note Co. Joined Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association in 1833, remaining a member for 41 years. M.C.M.A. Annals described him as "a man of fine tastes, an accomplished artist in his line, and highly esteemed as a friend and acquaintance." One of the appraisers of Robert Evans' estate. Returned to Haverhill about 1840; representative from there to Legislature; president of Haverhill Bank. 3

Hazen married Lucy Carey, daughter of Alpheus Carey and Ruby Perkins, on 6 Nov 1814 in Quincy MA. (Lucy Carey was born on 3 Apr 1790 in Quincy MA and died on 28 Jul 1860.)
