General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • He worked from circa 1770 to 1790 as a silversmith and watchmaker in New Bern NC 24 • Appointed on 21 Aug 1775 as Delegate to Provincial Congress in Hillsborough NC 24 • New Bern NC, 20 Oct 1775: commissioned to engrave plates for bills of credit for which he was paid £100. 24 • Appointed from 11 Mar 1777 to 5 Nov 1784 as Justice of the Peace in New Bern NC 24 • Appointed on 30 Apr 1777 as Judge of the Admiraty Court in Port of Beaufort 24 • Master to Bond Vail 13 Dec 1777 in New Bern NC. 24 • Appointed in 1780 as Commissioner in New Bern NC to superintend the printing of bills of credirt to the value of £1,240,000. 24 • New Bern NC, 1797: the inventory of his estate, prepared by his son Nathan, included "Silver Smith and watch makers tools; Materials of same . . . £100. 24 William married Mrs. William Tisdale about 1760. |
