Mitchell in Hanover NH • He worked from about 1815 to 1817 as a silversmith in Plattsburgh NY in the shop of his brother-in-law, John Robie. • He worked from 1821 to 1828 as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker in Hanover NH • He worked from circa 1829 to 1853 as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker in Concord NH with a stand in the Old Eagle Coffee House. • He was a partner from circa 1853 to 1856 with Abiel Carter and George H. Whitford in Concord NH • He worked from circa 1858 to 1878 as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker in Concord NH Jacob married Caroline Ramsdell Stocking on 15 Apr 1824 in Concord NH.
