John Burnham
General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were: • Master to John Burnham abt 1835 in Brattleboro VT. 1 • He worked from circa 1815 to 1850 as a silversmith in Brattleboro VT cabot's Annals of Brattleboro states "The handmade silver spoons of John Burnham Sr. won him a great reputation and every newly married couple was expected to have a half dozen made from six Spanish mill dollars." In 1844 shop located next to Unitarian Church, facing the Common in East Village of Brattleboro. He later gave up silver work and took up brass founding and plumbing. 3 John married Rachel Rossiter on 1 Jun 1815 in Connecticut. (Rachel Rossiter was born on 5 May 1791 in Litchfield CT and died on 19 Apr 1862 in Brattleboro VT.) |
