General notes: Silversmith Events in his life were:
• Alternate Mark • Apprenticed about 1789 to Daniel Burnap in East Windsor CT • He worked from 1798 to 1801 as a silversmith in New Hartford CT 3 • He worked from 1801 to 1807 as a silversmith in Hartford CT spending two years at the shop of Miles Beach as plater. 3 • He worked from 1807 to 1829 as a silversmith in Stockbridge MA • Advertised in the The Political Atlas (Stockbridge MA), 14 Feb 1817-7 Mar 1817, as a clock- and watchmaker, with a shop near Mr. David Avery's Tavern in Stockbridge, and that ". . . he also makes silver table, dessert, coffee, tea, and salt spoons, silver sugar bowls, cream cups, finger rings, ear rings, watch chains, etc. Wanted, a very ingenious lad of about 14 or 15 years of age as an apprentice to the above business." 3 • He worked from circa 1829 to 1840 as a silversmith in Austinburg OH 3 Harvey married Lydia Merrill on 20 Jan 1801 in New Hartford CT. (Lydia Merrill was born on 3 Apr 1777 in New Hartford CT and died on 2 Oct 1843 in Austinburg OH.) |
