  Events in his life were:

• He was a partner c 1845 with Francis Lamson in Lowell MA as LAMSON & TARR.

• He worked from circa 1845 to 1850 as a jeweler and watchmaker in Lowell MA
Originally trained as a doctor, he tired of his patients not following his medical advice and gave up his practice.

• He worked from circa 1851 to 1865 as a jeweler and watchmaker in Tunnel City, Monroe, WI
He later moved on to Texas and took up farming.

Josiah married Mary Delia Sawyer on 17 Sep 1844 in Lowell MA. (Mary Delia Sawyer was born on 23 Sep 1821 in Otisfield ME and died on 26 Jul 1899 in Graham, Young, TX.)
