Hardesty Walker
General notes: Silversmith and clockmaker Events in his life were: • He worked from circa 1818 to 1827 as a silversmith and clockmaker in Philadelphia PA • He worked c 1827 as a silversmith in Uniontown PA noted, with Milton Baily, in Hadden's History of Uniontown as a silversmith occupying a shop on Main Street on the south side between Meadow Alley and Morgantown Street. • He worked after 1834 as a farmer in Sidney OH where he built and operated a grist mill along the Miami River opposite the present location of Graceland Cemetery. Hardesty married Amanda Baily, daughter of Silas Baily and Margaret Harlan. (Amanda Baily was born on 3 Sep 1801 in Uniontown PA and died on 6 Apr 1838.) |
