• He was a partner from 1847 to 1861 with Asaph Childs in Athens GA as O. & A. K. CHILDS. The firm was discontinued at the outbreak of the Civil War and not resumed afterwards. ¹²

• He was a partner from 1852 to 1872 with ? Chamberlain in Milledgeville GA as CHILDS & CHAMBERLAIN. ¹²

• He worked from 1872 to 1873 as a silversmith and jeweler in Newton MA ¹²

Otis married Abigail Holman on 14 Feb 1838 in Springfield MA. (Abigail Holman was born on 7 Dec 1813 in Wilbraham MA and died on 23 Sep 1879 in Newton MA.)
