• Boston MA, 1805: referred to as a goldsmith in Boston Directory ³

• Boston MA, 1809-1825: referred to as jeweler in Boston Directory. Shop at 11½ Union Street. ³

• Advertised in the Christian Intelligencer (Gardiner ME), 4 Jul 1828, as a watchmaker and jeweler, having taken the south store under the new hotel in Gardiner. He had a long list of goods for sale. ³

• Gardiner ME, 1852: listed as goldsmith and optician in Gardiner Business Directory. ³

• He died intestate. His son-in-law, Robert Thompson, was appointed administrator and Charles Swift was one of the appraisers. The inventory showed a large stock of silver articles. ³

Elias married Joanna Coffin on 1 Nov 1831 in Newburyport MA. (Joanna Coffin was born on 18 May 1806 in Newburyport MA.)
