• He worked from 1819 to 1858 as a silversmith, watchmaker, and jeweler in Providence RI from shop at 17 Market Street. Listed in the 1836 city directory at 43 Market and in the 1845 edition at 45 Market. ⁴

• Advertised in the Providence Patriot (Providence RI), 22 Sep 1819, offering his services as a silversmith and watchmaker and seeking an apprentice for "Watch Repairing Business. A Lad from the County Preferred." ⁴

Franklin married Elizabeth Coy on 2 Jun 1817 in Providence RI. (Elizabeth Coy was born on 16 Jul 1797 in Providence RI and died on 15 Apr 1858.)
