General notes: Silversmith and engraver Events in his life were: • Apprenticed to Paul Revere in Boston MA. 3 • Apprenticed to Nathaniel Hurd in Boston MA. 3 • He worked from circa 1771 to 1821 as an engraver in Boston MA • Boston MA, 1784: cut the seal for the Bank of Massachusetts. 3 • Advertised in the Independent Chronicle (Boston MA), 23 Sep 1784, announceing he had moved from "Cornhill to the shop formerly improved by Mr. N. Hurd at Half Square, back of Mr. Shipman's school, State Street. where he carries on Engraving, Seal Cutting, and Copperplate Printing in all its Branches." 3 |
