He married Velma Hurt Ritchie in Knott Co. Kentucky, 24 October 1950. Velma was born in Ritchie Kentucky 02 April 1930. Velma is the daughter of Andrew Hurt and Theona Hurt Smith. At 28 years of age Velma became the mother of Iva Ritchie Shults in Knott Co. Kentucky, 8 Febuary 1959.
At 32 years of age Cyrill became the father of Iva Ritchie Shults in Knott Co. Kentucky, 8 Febuary 1959.
