Can you identify these places or these people?

There is no evidence of automobiles in any of the photos. One photo of a town scene certainly appears to have wired poles with insulators. That's a windmill and poles with cross bars near the barn on the left.

The railway photos most likely show telegraph and/or telephone lines only.
