John P. Pedigo Obituary
|
Transcribed from the Memphis Reveille 20 November 1890 John P. Pedigo John P. Pedigo died of fever at his home in Mt. Pleasant township Friday, November 18, 1890. Deceased was and old and honored citizen of the county, and his death was a surprise to many friends in this city who had not even heard of his illness. Mr. Pedigo was a member of the 21st Mo. Infantry during the late war, and all his comrades say he was a gallant soldier. After the war closed the writer formed his acquaintance, and since that time we have ever found him to be a man of sterling integrity and worth. In the deep affection which has come upon his family the Reveille tenders sincere condolences. Funeral services were held at the Bible Grove church yesterday, after which the body was tenderly laid to rest in the church cemetery. |
