Marcus O Shivers - Shivers Genealogy Page 171.
Marcus asserts William Shivers Jr is the son of William Shivers Sr. by assumption son of Jonas Shivers Jr and Lilory Godwin of Warren County, Ga and states William shivers Sr was the only William shivers in Georgia at that time. He also states William Shivers married Sallie Norsworthy.
** This all does not fit what other researchers have come up with and does not match my own research and either is totally erronious or exact and truthful making a big question mark appear over this record. Current data suggests Barnaby Shivers son William David Shivers Jr married Susan F Rabun. So was Barnaby's name really Jonas Barnaby Shivers, or William Barnaby Shivers. To have a son named William David Shivers jr would infer that there was a William David Shivers Sr which does not appear in my database.

family of Barnaby Shivers: Although the evidence is not as strong as that
of the above this writer feels that based on the following John Milner
Shivers can be placed in the family of Barnaby and Rachel Cowan Shivers.
John was the right age to be the son of Barnaby. They attended the same
church. John's son John Alonza Shivers named one of his son's Cowan McBride Shivers.
The name Cowan would seem to indicate a relationship between either Barnaby or Willis who both married Cowan's. We have no reason to believe that Willis had more children than what are already accounted for thus I believe that John Milner Shivers can tentatively be placed in the family of Barnaby ShiversJohn was a deacon at the Horab Baptist Church at Powellton and Barnaby attended as Deacon.
