The ARAWA departed London on 7 July, 1892 and arrived in Wellington, via Plymouth, on 25 August, 1892. Captain John Stuart was in command.

The S.S. &A. Co.'s ss Arawa, which left Plymouth on the 9th July, is expected at Hobart on Thursday next, and in Wellington on, the following Monday. The following: is a list of her passen­gers:-
