John Bedford Williams Family
John Bedford Williams, the son of Jesse and Emeline Williams, was born 23 April 1861 in Harris County, Georgia, and died 10 October 1918 [tombstone has date of Oct. 18, 1918] in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. He married Ardella Herring Abt. 1881 in Georgia, daughter of Edwin Herring and Mary Leach. She was born 06 July 1861 in Cherokee County, Georgia, and died 13 March 1907 in Fulton County, Georgia. John worked as a farmer, a livery or stable hand and also
in the cotton mills, later in his life he began working as a transfer driver, delivering
goods to local merchants, it was on one of these trips that he died, both John and Ardella
are buried in the Roswell Methodist Church Cemetery {also known as the Old Roswell Cemetery}.

GRADE CROSSING VICTIM DIES AT HOSPITAL
J. B. Williams, 54 years old, who lived on Whipple Avenue in Egan Park, died
Thursday afternoon at a private sanatarium as the result of injuries received
when his car was struck by a railroad train on a crossing near Hogansville.
Mr. Williams was in the transfer business and when the accident occurred he
was transporting a load of goods from LaGrange. His van was completely demolished, and Mr. Williams badly mangled. He was put aboard the train and rushed to a hospital in LaGrange.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. C. Bannister, Egan Park, Mrs. Lucile Gregory, also of Egan Park and Mrs. Vince Powell of Roswell, Ga., five sons,
W. M. Williams of Tucker, Ga.; Ed Williams of Lakewood Heights; John Williams
of Camp Gordon; Oscar and Ernest Williams of Egan Park.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday morning at 10 o'clock from the Piedmont Baptist Church. Interment will be at Roswell Methodist Church (aka Old Roswell Cemetery) Cemetery. (Located near the intersection of Woodstock Rd. & Alpharetta St. in Roswell)

Mrs. Emmett Boggs, 36 years old, died at the residence in Egan Park Sunday night at 8 o'clock. She is survived by her husband and five small children. The body was removed to the chapel of A.C. Hemperley in East Point.

EMMILINE BOGGS
Emmiline Boggs, the 5 month old daughter of Mr. Emmett Boggs, died at the residence in Egan, Ga., early Wednesday morning. She is survived by her father, three brothers and one sister. The body was removed to the chapel of A. C. Hemperley in East Point.
Louise Williams, the daughter of John Bedford and Ardella Herring Williams,
was born 17 September 1884 in Georgia, and died 13 February 1965 in Cobb County, Georgia. She married Henry Vinson Powell, his parents are unknown at this time, abt. 1902 in Georgia. He was born 11 December 1885 in Georgia, and died 19 October 1955 in Fulton County, Georgia. At the time of their deaths Louise and Vince were living in Fulton
County, Georgia although Louise died in Cobb County [per Georgia Death Index].
Both are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in Fulton County, Georgia.

Bessie Powell, the daughter of Henry Vinson and Louise Williams Powell, was born 03 August 1906 in Cobb County, Georgia, and died 10 August 1975 in Fulton County, Georgia. She married James Shellie Patten abt. 1924 in Georgia, his parents are unknown at this time.. He was born 10 December 1899 in Alabama, and died 25 June 1963 in Fulton County, Georgia. As late as 1918 James was still
in Alabama, he registered for the World War I draft in Elmore County. Bessie and James are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Fulton County, Georgia along with their daughter Patsy, they are in the Fountain Garden A section of the cemetery. Bessie and James

John P. Williams, the son of John and Ardella Herring Williams, was born December 1895 in Georgia, and died 26 December 1956 in Fulton County, Georgia. He married Ruby Abt. 1924 in Georgia. She was born Abt. 1905 in Georgia. When his father died in 1918 John was stationed at Fort Gordon in Richmond County, Georgia. I haven't located him on the 1920 census, he was probably still in the Army.
