Matilda Caroline Galloway, the daughter of John and Kizzia Galloway, was born about 1804 in either North or South Carolina. The Galloway's lived in the area of North Carolina that later became Transylvania County right at the South Carolina border and were known to "wander" back and forth. Her date of death is not known but she and her husband James L. Morgan, the son of William and Mary LaFoy Morgan, are buried in the Big Creek Baptist Cemetery in Monroe County, Tennessee. Their children are:

Sarah Caroline Morgan, the daughter of James L. and Matilda Caroline Galloway Morgan, was born 2 April 1843 near Chattanooga, Tennessee, she died 1928 in DeKalb County, Alabama. Sarah married Elijah H. (Dick) Saffell, the son of James and Polly Webb Saffell, on 10 Aug 1859 in Monroe County, Tennessee. Their children are:

  • Lawrence Lorando Saffels, b. 3 Oct 1862 TN/d. 11 Dec 1932 AL//marr. Margaret Emma Moses 6 Sep 1883 TN

Lawrence Lorando Saffels, the son of Elijah H. and Sarah Caroline Morgan, was born 3 Oct 1862 in Monroe County, Tennessee and died 11 Dec 1932 in DeKalb County, Alabama. He and his wife Margaret Emma Moses, the daughter of James and Martha Doolin Moses, were married 6 Sep 1883 in Tellico Plains, Monroe County, Tennessee and were members of the Beulah Baptist Church in DeKalb County, Alabama. Lawrence and Margaret are both buried in the Beulah Cemetery in DeKalb County, Alabama. Their children are:
