We do not know much about the family of Margaret Dryman and have no documentation that she is in fact a daughter of John Henry Dryman, but she married John Goldman on 23 April 1798 in Greene County, Tennessee and since we have found no other Dryman families in that area during this time, we assume that she is his daughter.
John and Margaret Dryman Goldman apparently made the move to Buncombe County, North Carolina about the same time as Henry Dryman Sr. and the rest of the family.
John Goldman and family are found on the 1810 census in Buncombe
County, NC (M252/39)on page 75 living near Henry Dryman, Sr.
In John's household were 2 boys and 4 girls under the age of 10 and 1 girl between the ages of 10 and 16, there is a woman in the
household in the 26-45 age group. Is this Margaret or had she
died and John remarried? When Henry Dryman, Sr. deeded personal
property in 1806 it was to "his only daughter, Sarah". Either he
had already given Margaret what he wanted her to have, she was
dead or he had severed family relations with her.
Another researcher has told me that John Goldman is found on tax records of Sumner County, Tennessee, but that Margaret is shown as head of the household on the 1820 census, living in Sumner County, Tennessee.
