She was born 11 September 1883 in Missouri, and died 08 May 1966 in Texhoma, Texas County, Oklahoma, both are buried in the Texhoma Cemetery, which is located in both Texas County, Oklahoma and Sherman County, Texas. CAR-TRAIN CRASH KILLS TEXHOMA MAN

An 84 year old retired railroad man from Texhoma was killed Sunday afternoon in Texhoma when his automobile was struck by a train.

PEAK CRABTREE was pronounced dead at the scene, Officers said Crabtree was alone in his car when it apparently stalled on the East Street crossing in Texhoma.

Funeral service for Crabtree will be at 2:30p.m. Wednesday in the Texhoma Church of God with Rev. V. H. Miller, pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. C.C. Carlile with burial in the Texhoma Cemetery under the direction of the Dawson-Welch Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1884 at Roane County, Tenn. and married to Sarah Rose Thomas Sept. 11, 1903 at Stoutland, MO. He worked for a railroad in Kansas City and Joplin, Mo. for 15 years before moving to Texhoma in 1919.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Webb of Guymon; two sons, Raymond of Puyallup, Wash., and Robert of Texhoma; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.



Lillie Imogene Crabtree, the daughter of Peak and Sarah Thomas Crabtree, was born 16 May 1902 in Missouri, and died 11 September 1989 in Hugoton, Stevens County, Kansas. She married Arthur H. Webb Abt. 1920 in Texas County, Oklahoma. He was born 21 October 1902 in Virginia1, and died 15 April 1988 in Hugoton, Stevens County, Kansas. Both are buried in the Texahoma Cemetery, this cemetery is located in both Texas County, Oklahoma and Sherman County, Texas.

Raymond L. Crabtree, the son of Peak and Sarah Thomas Crabtree, was born 22 November 1904 in Missouri, he died 14 May 1972 in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. Raymond enlisted in the Army on 7 Mar 1942 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was a married automobile serviceman who had not attended high school. Robert Linn Crabtree, the son of Peak and Sarah Thomas Crabtree, was born 02 November 1906 in Missouri, the last child born before Peak and Sarah moved to Kansas. Robert died 17 December 1970 in Texas County, Oklahoma and is also buried in Texhoma Cemetery. Robert had moved to Los Angeles, California when he enlisted in the Army, he enlisted 12 Jan 1944 and records show that he was a married automobile serviceman who had not attended high school. Gladys Irene Crabtree, the daughter of Peak and Sarah Thomas Crabtree, was born in Kansas on 08 January 1916, she died 02 October 1930, her cause of death is unknown at this time and she is buried in Texhoma Cemetery with other members of her family.


Claude E. Crabtree, the son of Peak and Sarah Thomas Crabtree, was born 17 January 1917 in Kansas and died overseas during World War II, he is buried in Texhoma Cemetery. Claude enlisted in the Army in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 9 Oct 1941. He was single and had one year of high school and was employed as an automobile serviceman.
